I’m Jake, an assistant professor of philosophy at Yale. I was before that a Lecturer at University College London and a Bersoff fellow at NYU.
My first book, Hegel’s Logic and Metaphysics, appeared from Cambridge in 2023. I wrote the Routledge Philosophers volume on Marcuse in 2024.
My articles on figures like Rousseau, Sartre, Hegel, Marx and the Frankfurt School have appeared in Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, The British Journal for the History of Philosophy, The Journal of the History of Philosophy, The European Journal of Philosophy and elsewhere.
Currently, I have a short book coming out on Hegel and Marx for the Cambridge Elements series.
However, my main project at the moment concerns Deleuze’s critique of Hegel and will be called Deleuze’s Ethics of Affirmation.
